For over 40 years, the French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo has taken no prisoners in its caustic rebukes to far-right institutions, fundamentalism, unreason, and good taste. The magazine’s first issue since the tragic events of January 7 — the cover of which can be seen above — affirmed the right to free expression and satire, and the magazine’s intention to endure and keep printing.
